The establishment of the Hong Kong Branch of Chinese National Engineering Research Center (CNERC, 國家工程技術研究中心) for Control and Treatment of Heavy Metal Pollution (the Branch for short) at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST, 香港科技大學) was approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China in 2015. The objective of the Branch is to maintain the leading role that our existing technologies play in Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland while developing more economic and environmentally friendly technologies through extensive research and development collaborations among institutions, industries and governments.
