M.Sc in Sanitation and Wastewater Management Programme
University of ZimbabweThe aim of the MSc in Sanitation and Wastewater Management at the University of Zimbabwe is to develop a cadre of highly skilled professionals equipped with advanced knowledge and practical skills in sanitation systems, wastewater treatment, environmental health, and related technologies. This is achieved through comprehensive coursework, hands-on design projects, and a rigorous dissertation component. As part of the Global Sanitation Graduate School (GSGS), the program draws on international best practices and is supported by partners such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and IHE Delft. The envisaged impact in Zimbabwe is multifaceted: the program aims to bridge the country’s critical skills gap in sanitation, improve public health outcomes, and promote sustainable wastewater infrastructure. Graduates are expected to lead innovations, influence policy, and implement scalable sanitation solutions, thereby contributing to Zimbabwe’s socio-economic development and aligning with Education 5.0’s goals of industrialization and problem-solving through applied research.
