The Master’s in Sanitation Technology at Kathmandu University is designed to address Nepal’s Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) targets for 2030, particularly in achieving universal access to improved water supply and sanitation. Recognizing the increasing demand for skilled professionals in this sector, the program is developed in collaboration with IHE Delft, Netherlands to provide comprehensive expertise in sanitation systems, technologies, planning, and policy development. This program equips graduates with the knowledge to design, implement, and evaluate sanitation projects, ensuring improved public health and sustainable sanitation solutions. Key focus areas include sanitation infrastructure, wastewater management, hygiene promotion, and environmental sustainability. Graduates will also gain research skills to develop innovative sanitation technologies. The degree offered varies based on academic background: M.E. in Sanitation Technology for engineering graduates and M.S. in Sanitation Technology for science graduates.
