AIDIS’s mission is to promote public health and the quality of life of the inhabitants of the Americas, as well as environmental protection and preservation, through convergent actions of Sanitary Engineering and environmental sciences with other disciplines that seek human development. AIDIS’s vision is to be permanently the leading association in the Americas for the promotion of environmental sanitation, environmental quality, and the management of natural resources in the context of sustainable human development. Our goals are to improve the quality of life for the inhabitants of the Americas, develop activities that lead to the improvement of the environment, inform decision-making processes for development with the best information, raise awareness about environmental, health and basic sanitation problems, proposing alternatives and solutions, maintain close contact with the Governments of each of the countries in the area, in order to seek the implementation of concrete action plans that over time will reduce, as far as possible, the shortcomings in health, environment and sanitation, be an institution that offers professional development events on topics inherent to the Association, permanently establishing strategic alliances with Universities and Institutes of Education, and maintain close ties with Support Institutions, which allow obtaining resources to consolidate actions of the National Chapters.
