University of Dar es Salaam conducted stakeholdrs engagement activities in CWIS in Tanga, Tanzania

Universituy of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, a GSGS regional co-lead, conducted the stakeholders’ engagement in its supporting partner in Tanga’s Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (UWASA). The engagement is part of concluding the first year activities, which included a) awareness campaigns for gender, age, and vulnerability inclusion, b) collaborative research activities and initiatives with utilities (Tanga UWASA), municipalities (Tanga City Council), NGOs (BRIGHT), and GiZ, c) field exposures to understand the City-wide Inclusive Sanitation (CIWS) service gap along the sanitation service chain in Tanga, and d) peer to peer learning with stakeholders in Central Business District (CBD) of Tanga. Stakeholders representatives also visited the sea outfall where the raw and partially treated wastewater in Tanga CBD is discharged.
