Project on sewage collection and SBR treatment (India)

Thesis summary

The project concerns a housing complex at Kolkata. It was a flat land. The total quantity of sewage generated from the complex is estimated at about 792 KLD. The sewage will be collected through a sewer network leading to a sewage treatment plant. The plant design is based on sequencing batch reactor (SBR) technology followed by tertiary treatment (pressure sand filtration, activated carbon filtration, and disinfection by UV radiation). The treated wastewater will be reused in toilet flushing, landscaping, car washing etc. The excess treated wastewater will be discharged in the municipality drain in front of the project site.
