Prof. Mark van Loosdrecht received GSGS Ambassador Award

The Global Sanitation Graduate School (GSGS) proudly announces that Professor Mark van Loosdrecht has been named the recipient of the prestigious GSGS Ambassador Award. This award honors individuals whose outstanding and sustained contributions have significantly advanced the mission and vision of the Global Sanitation Graduate School.

Prof. van Loosdrecht has supported GSGS since its founding in 2017. He played an instrumental role in developing core teaching materials for the GSGS curriculum on sewer-based sanitation, particularly the widely recognized open-access textbooks and online courses on biological wastewater treatment. According to recent information from the publisher IWAP, the textbook series has reached more than 400,000 readers worldwide.

His dedication to science and education exemplifies the spirit of GSGS and continues to inspire the next generation of sanitary engineering professionals around the globe.
