NUST successfully integrated GSGS CWIS curriculum into academic program

The MS Environmental Engineering Program at the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Engineering (IESE), School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (SCEE), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan, has successfully integrated the Global Sanitation Graduate School (GSGS) curriculum on City-Wide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) into its academic program.

The curriculum integration represents an important milestone in strengthening sanitation education and professional capacity development across South and Southeast Asia. Through the adoption of GSGS CWIS modules, students will gain enhanced knowledge and practical understanding of inclusive sanitation planning, governance, service delivery, resource recovery, and sustainable urban sanitation systems.

The GSGS curriculum has been designed to address the growing need for skilled professionals capable of responding to complex sanitation challenges in rapidly urbanizing regions. By embedding CWIS concepts into higher education programs, partner universities are helping prepare the next generation of practitioners, researchers, and decision-makers in the WASH sector.
