Feasible technologies for handling solid waste in urban areas (India)

Solid waste management is one of the most challenging services to be catered by local body. Government of India and State government is struggling to streamline the whole process and extending its technical and financial assistance to ULBs. However, still there are lot of gaps in the system and the same has been studied through various case studies. The component wise gaps have been briefed in this report. A system has been recommended for segregation, collection, secondary storage, transportation, processing and disposal of municipal solid waste.
