A glimpse of IHE Delft’s student fieldwork in France

In May this year, a group 42 students and staff of IHE Delft participated in different site visits and sessions under their interdisciplinary project fieldwork in the area of Nantes, France. The students were from one- and two-years MSc Program in Water and Sustainable Development (Water & Health track), and from the joint Erasmus Mundus MSc program IMETE. The group included students from Sanitation, Sanitary Engineering, and Water Supply Engineering profiles of the track. Along with the site visits (which varied from decentralized household on-site sanitation systems to the largest WWTP in Western France with capacity of 600.000 PE), students engaged with local stakeholders, collected and analysed water and wastewater samples, and worked on different projects primarily focused on resource recovery from sludge and effluent to energy, compost, irrigation products, and non-potable water. We are grateful to our host, the Blain community, particularly Mr. Alexandre Decout, and to our students who prepared this lovely video.
