20 MLD MBBR-based sewage treatment plant design (India)
This thesis emphasized on the investigation on design of 20 MLD sewage treatment plant based on MBBR technology with biological nutrient removal (BNR) at Chikmagalur, Karnataka in India. The research project focused on the following areas: (i) process design of complete MBBR system, (ii) numerous variations in which the desired parameters can be achieved, and (iii) understanding the complexity of process and issues related to understanding the biofilm area and activity. The objectives of this project were to understand the aspects of MBBR based treatment technology and carrying out its application in real time scenario, designing the complete plant along with drawings, preparing a detailed cost sheet of the project, and comparison with other technologies. The project has been commissioned and is successfully producing the desired results. This study was conducted as a part of off-campus thesis at CDD Society, India and as part of their ongoing projects.
